It is Palbar Ling Center's honor to receive an appreciation letter from the Ladakh Buddhist Association Leh Ladakh. We received this special certificate on July 6th, 2022 which is the unique occasion of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's 87th birthday in Zhiwai-Tsal Leh-Ladakh. PLC would like to thank LBA's President Sh. Thupstan Tsewang and executive members for giving us this special appreciation certificate. This not only encourages us to continue our efforts in the stupas restoration project but also empowers our future wholesome projects.
The Palbar Ling stupas restoration project in Basgo village was planned after HH the 17th Karmapa's 36th birthday. We have these plans because HH the 17th Karmapa mentioned in his teaching to all his disciples to restore temples and stupas and help needy people and animals to dispel the obstacles of that year.
We have restored eight stupas in Takste village, Kargil district. Our friend, Stanzin Gurmat was in charge of the whole project and he did a fantastic job! The Basgo Village Restoration Project was started September 21st, 2021, with the help of the Basgo Welfare Committee, Basgo Goba, members of different chutso, ex-servicemen, 11 friends from Basgo and all villagers. In 2021, we completed five stupas before the freezing winter started.
At the end of March this year, we started a project and hired many workers, and within 4 months we have completed around 100 stupas! PLC would like to extend our sincere thanks to HH the 17th Karmapa for blessing and guiding us towards the restoration and preservation of these ancient and precious monuments.
Lastly, I would like to share a little bit about PLC. We are a very small Buddhist organization based in Florida, USA. We have been trying our best for many years to help monasteries and nunneries, orphanages, blind and old age centers, and those that are homeless. There are hundreds of people working very hard behind the scenes as volunteers, donors, and advisors. The recognition and appreciation certificate from the Ladakh Buddhist Association is for all of Palbar Ling's devotees, volunteers, donors and advocates. Thank you for being part of this meritorious and meaningful project! May Buddha bless all. Thanks
