Mother’s Day Homeless Offering

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. On this meaningful day, the PLC team chose to celebrate not with luxury or entertainment, but through kindness, compassion, and the spirit of giving.

Today, our team went to downtown San Diego to offer warm vegetarian chili, cornbread, cookies, bottled water, hot chocolate, coffee, and tea to many homeless brothers and sisters living on the streets. Though the offerings may seem simple, each meal carried sincere care, respect, and love. For many people, this was not only a warm meal, but also a reminder that they are not forgotten.

Mother’s Day is a day to honor unconditional love, sacrifice, and compassion. What better way to celebrate than by extending that same motherly kindness to those who are suffering and in need? Every smile, every cup of hot drink, and every kind word became a small light of hope in someone’s difficult day.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Tiffany, Trang, Ha, Tuyet, and JJ for making this offering possible. Your generosity, hard work, and compassionate hearts made this day truly special. Because of your kindness, many people were able to enjoy a warm and joyful Mother’s Day meal.

In Buddhism, compassion is not merely words — it is action. True offering is not measured by how much we give, but by the sincerity and love behind it. May the merits of this wholesome deed bring health, happiness, peace, and blessings to all the mothers in the world, and may all beings be free from suffering.

Happy Mother’s Day.

May kindness continue to bloom in every corner of the world. 🙏
