Every Thursday, our PLC Homeless Program has the privilege of serving our friends on the streets of downtown San Diego. Yesterday was another hot, sunny afternoon, but despite the heat, the smiles, gratitude, and kind conversations reminded us why this work is so meaningful.
We often say that we cannot change someone's entire life in a single day, but with a warm meal, a bottle of water, and a caring heart, we can certainly make their day a little brighter. Sometimes, the greatest gift we can offer is simply letting someone know they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of our supporters whose generosity keeps this program going week after week. Your compassion reaches far beyond the food we serve—it brings hope, dignity, and encouragement to those facing difficult circumstances.
A very special thank you to Lisa for once again joining us in serving with love and compassion. We are also sincerely grateful to her friend Kelly for generously donating many cases of bottled water for our homeless outreach. During these hot summer days, clean drinking water is more than a convenience—it is a necessity. Your thoughtful donation brought comfort and relief to many people.
Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to Lucy, CC, Maria, and Fernando for volunteering your time and energy to distribute food with kindness and respect. Your willingness to serve is a beautiful expression of compassion in action.
