The Palbar Ling Center (PLC) Homeless Program continues to embody the Buddha’s teachings through direct acts of kindness and service. Guided by the spirit of loving-kindness (mettā) and compassion (karuṇā), we strive to relieve suffering wherever it is found and to bring warmth, dignity, and care to those in need.
In Buddhism, helping others is not just a virtuous act but a fundamental part of the spiritual path. The Buddha taught that true happiness arises from generosity (dāna), compassion, and selflessness. When we extend our hands to support those who are struggling, we not only ease their immediate suffering but also cultivate our own hearts toward wisdom and compassion. As the Buddha reminded us, “By helping others, we help ourselves.”
Today’s offering was kindly sponsored by my tennis buddy Robert, whose generosity made this service possible. Through the PLC Homeless Program, our volunteers had the opportunity to serve our homeless brothers and sisters by offering nourishing food and essential items, including muffins, soda, croissants, bananas, beanies, socks, and many clothes. These simple offerings were given with sincere care, respect, and goodwill, reminding everyone that no one is forgotten.
We would also like to express our deep gratitude to John and Jamyang for their generous donation of a large amount of clothing. Their kindness and support brought much-needed comfort to many and truly reflect the Buddhist spirit of generosity and loving-kindness.
May this wholesome action bring benefit to those who received it, and may the merits generated from this service be dedicated to the well-being of all beings. May compassion continue to guide our actions, and may we always remember that helping others is one of the most meaningful ways to walk the Buddha’s path.
With gratitude and Peace, Namo Buddhaya ![]()
